Martin by Jasper Cable-Alexander
Melanie is a journalist by training, starting out on the Financial Times and then moving to become Features Editor at Country Life magazine, before turning freelance to spend more time at home raising her son. She has written for most of the national newspapers and for a number of leading magazines.
Martin was involved in the garden industry for most of his life, exhibiting at Chelsea and Hampton Court flower shows and such like for nigh on 29 years. His speciality was Gothic follies, urns and pots, some of which you can see in Ellesmere's garden.

The pair met and married in 2014. They have three children between them, aged from 25 to 34, and three grandchildren with one extra on the way.
Becoming B&B hosts crept up on us in the same way the smell of coffee drifts up from the kitchen and draws people downstairs for breakfast. It suited the two of us professionally, evolving at the right stage in our children's lives and we enjoy meeting people. The house lends itself to being full too.
